ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Speaker of the South Dakota House, Jon Hansen appeared on the KSDN Nightly Report Tuesday to update on his candidacy for Governor.
Since his last appearance, he has called for a special session to address the rising cost of gasoline in the state.
Hansen inform the public he’s the only candidate in support of this.
Hansen talk about how he would use the future fund to make up for the lost revenue generated by the gas tax.
Since he believes Governor Rhoden will not call for a special session. For this to occur would require 2/3 of both the House and Senate to do so.
Hansen was asked whether property rights will still be a significant issue as it was in 2024.
Hansen also address the negative ads that been run by other candidates running for governor.
Hansen was asked to define being a Republican in South Dakota in 2026.
