Emporia, KS (NSUWolves.com) – Three individuals from the Northern State University track and field team took on day one of the NCAA D2 Outdoor Championships Thursday. Renea Taylor led the way for today’s Wolves competitors, securing an All-American finish.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Starting the day off for NSU was Jayden Munroe in the men’s long jump; he leaped 7.15m to place 14th in the event
- Romane Maugest was in action next for the Wolves in the women’s pole vault, coming in 18th place; she cleared 3.65m on her first attempt before missing 3.80m three straight attempts
- Rounding out Northern’s day one was Renea Taylor and her impressive women’s 400m hurdles performance; she finished 7th in the event’s first round with her 58.69 time, recording a personal best and qualifying her for finals
UP NEXT
Levi Reis and Taylor will wrap up the track and field season for the Wolves on the last day of the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships Saturday, May 23. The men’s javelin throw starts at noon, while the women’s 400m hurdles final is set for 5:50 p.m.
