ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Monday was the first day of the 83rd Boys State happening at Northern State University.

Among the feature speaker was Congressman Dusty Johnson.  Johnson talks about politics to the students.

Congressman Johnson fielded questions from students about his time in D.C. and most knew that’s he running for Governor in South Dakota.

He was asked about data centers potentially coming to South Dakota.

Johnson was asked why he’s running for Governor and not looking to return to the U.S. House.

Johnson was asked about voting along party line as a Republican.

Johnson talked about his stance on term limits for Congress and presented a stat about how long most Congressmen serve.

Johnson was asked about gas prices and when to look to start seeing those prices begin to decline.

Johnson talks about the differences between probation and parole.

Johnson closed it out by talking about how historians view America.

On Monday, they held a memorial service that night to honor former Boys Staters who died while serving in the military.
