SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (WNAX) – The South Dakota Chamber of Commerce and Industry held their annual economic outlook forum this week in Sioux Falls.
A presentation by a South Dakota State University economics professor pointed out that the states economy is growing slowly due to weather and trade issues.
Chamber President Dave Owen says his members are still optimistic.
Owen says South Dakota seems to always have a “slow and steady” economy.
The state has had a number of weather disasters this year. Owen says those seem to even out over time.
Owen says finding enough skilled workers is still a major issue for the state’s larger companies.
