Senator John Thune provides update on what’s happening in D.C.

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- During his time at Boys State this week, HubCityRadio had an opportunity to talk with U.S. Senate Majority Leader John Thune about what’s happening in Washington.

One bill that has now cleared the U.S. House is a bill to try to make E15 fuel year round.  Senator Thune provides an update on the Senate side.

There are push back right now coming from states that have refineries that they feel will be negatively impacted.  Senator Thune was asked how to find the balance between helping farmers and not hurting those states with refineries.

One bill that has garner a lot of attention these days is the Save America Act.  Senator Thune goes over what is all included in that bill.

There are pressure on Senator Thune to nuke the filibuster in order for this bill to pass. He responded to that.

One thing Senator Thune does is update on his social media accounts what’s he is doing not only in D.C. but what’s happening in South Dakota.  Comments seen are generally been very negative believing he should be Washington getting the Save America Act passed.  Thune commented on those who post those type of comments.

Congress is scheduled to reconvene on Monday.
