ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Brown County Commission held their meeting on Tuesday morning.
The Commission updated the public on what’s happening with the Richmond Dam project. Brown County Commissioner Duane Sutton relayed information from the Commissioner of School and Public Lands, Brock Greenfield.
Sutton inform everyone what their department is looking to maybe add another pump to move the water along more efficiently.
Sutton talks about pumps being turned off over the weekend due to heavy rains that hit the region.
The commission will continue to provide weekly updates on the project until completion.
Another topic brought up Tuesday was whether to adjust the speed limit on Brown County Highway 13 north of Aberdeen.
Sutton took feedback from the public and feels that the speed limits for now should be unchanged.
Commissioner Kyler Dinger feels the timing for this is not right at this time.
Commissioner Mike Wiese talks about the public needing to stay patience.
Commissioner Sutton reminds the public that the road will likely be the detour once the 6th Avenue bridge reconstruction begins in 2027.
The commissioners decided to keep the speed limit as is for Highway 13.
