New Leader Announced For NSU Swimming

Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State University Director of Athletics Nate Davis announced today the addition of Tim Teeter as the fourth head coach in program history of Wolves swimming and diving. Teeter joins with experience at all levels of youth, collegiate, and professional swimming.
“I am thrilled to welcome Tim to Northern to lead our swim and dive program,” said Davis. “He is an outstanding leader who understands what it takes to build a successful and sustainable program. His experience, enthusiasm, vision, and commitment to student-athlete development make him an excellent fit for Northern State. I am confident he will elevate our program while providing an exceptional experience for our student-athletes.”
“I am incredibly humbled and grateful to Nate Davis for the opportunity to guide this program,” explained Teeter. “I am thrilled to join the Wolves family and look forward to leading the women’s swimming and diving program into its next chapter.”
Teeter most recently served as the executive director and head coach of the Saddleback El Toro Aquatic swim team in Irvine, California. With the program, he oversaw an annual budget of $1,000,000, worked with 200-plus athletes and managed multiple swim meets each year, and coached multiple Olympic and international competitors from the United States, Egypt, Puerto Rico, and France. Over 50 student-athletes pursued swimming in the collegiate ranks.
In addition, beginning in 2022 Teeter added roles as the recruiting coordinator at University of La Verne and general manager with the New York Breakers. He has held head coaching positions at El Toro High School, the Ames Cyclone Aquatics Club, Monticello Aquatic Club, Charles City High School, Set Aquatics Club, and Wine Country Aquatics.
Teeter served as the interim head coach at Iowa Central Community College for the 2012-13 season, leading the Tritons to fifth (men) and seventh (women) place finishes at the NJCAA Championships. He coached national finalists from Brazil, Colombia, and Croatia, as well as Fiji Olympian Doug Miller.
He opened his collegiate career at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California serving as an assistant for two years and head coach for one. With Tigers, Teeter coached over 30 NCAA All-Americans, multiple NCAA finalists, members of the Polish, Mexican, and United States National teams including Olympic Gold Medalist Bradley Schumacher.
Outside of the coaching ranks, Teeter served in multiple roles, including President and CEO, of the Law Finance Group, Inc. and President and COO of A.L. Zimmerman Capital, LLC.
Teeter earned his bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Iowa State University and juris doctorate from Creighton University. Tim and his wife Jessica have two children, Nyte and Daley.
