ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen School Board on Monday night recognized Aberdeen Central athletes that was victorious as various state tournaments.
Aberdeen Central Girls Track Coach Jim Appl acknowledged Taryn Hermansen for records she broke during the season in the shot put.
Hermansen credited her parents for her success.
Aberdeen Central Boys Track Coach Greg Murley talked about the dedication of Kyson Fayant for the upcoming track season.
Fayant won in record time in the 300 meter hurdles. He talks about the key to his success was being focus on the season.
Also recognized Monday night was the Aberdeen Central Golf Team who won the state title for the second straight season.
Head coach Kim Zimmerman wanted to thank the school board and the community for their support all season.
Zimmerman talks about the students showing etiquette both on and off the golf course.
All six golfers this year were all staters. Three seniors, Olivia Braun, Emma Dohrer, and Chloe Vikander were academic all staters and Zimmerman wanted to make sure that was recognized.
Based on what happened this year, Zimmerman believe this might be the best AA performance in history.
The other members of the team are Genevieve Golz, Kyle Wirebaugh, and Carli Withers.
