ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- A summer storm brought heavy rains in Aberdeen on Tuesday night.
Starting shortly after 8pm, 2.66″ of rain fell through midnight. Another .56″ rain fell after midnight for a total 3.22″ of rain by 1AM.
Flash Flood Warnings were issued until 8am Wednesday morning.
There were reports from the National Weather Service of Aberdeen of cars stalled due to water on Fairgrounds Road.
Flooding occured at North Dakota Street and 24th Avenue, North State Street from 18th to 19th Ave, and Dakota Street and 1st Street, and 3rd Avenue.
Besides rain there were also reports of wind gusts of at least 60mph around the region including Claremont(70mph), Mina, Warner, etc. Aberdeen Regional Airport reported top wind gust at 68mph. That caused minor damage within the city.
Forecast for next week include sunny skies with temperature climbing into the 90s by Friday with possibly 100s by Sunday through Tuesday.
