Braun Finishes Runner-Up at SDGA Amateur Championship at Elmwood Golf Course

SDGA Amateur Championships Conclude in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, SD- Kaitlin Strain of Rapid City captured the SDGA Amateur Women’s Championship, finishing three rounds at 1-over par with a total score of 217. Strain closed with a final-round 71 to edge Aberdeen’s Olivia Braun, who finished runner-up at 4-over par (220).

Braun finished runner-up after a strong showing throughout the tournament, finishing at 4-over par with a three-round total of 220. Braun opened the championship with an even-par 72 to sit near the top of the leaderboard, followed by rounds of 76 and 72. Her final-round 72 kept her in contention and secured a second-place finish against one of the strongest fields in the state.

In the men’s championship, Parker Edens of Brookings and Dakota Munger of Pukwana shared the title after finishing tied at 10-under par with matching totals of 206. Edens posted rounds of 67-68-71, while Munger carded rounds of 69-67-70.

Harrisburg’s Eli Anema finished third at 8-under par (208). Watertown’s Jake Olson and Sioux Falls’ Tom Carlson tied for fourth at 7-under par (209).

Local golfers Lane Tvedt of Wolsey finished tied for 29th at 4-over par (220), while Aberdeen’s Peyton Brust placed tied for 41st at 8-over par (224).
