ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- South Dakota Gubernatorial candidate Toby Doeden went on the KSDN Midday Report to update on his campaign.  Doeden received the most votes in the South Dakota primary back on June 3rd.

Doeden acknowldeged that when he first registered as a Democrat because of his father.

Doeden explained why he took the rest of June off from advertising on radio and television.

Doeden did go to the Republican Convention in Rapid City in June and got pushback from his picture with Senate Majority Leader John Thune.  Doeden defended that picture.

Doeden addressed the polling that came out on Friday showing Governor Rhoden with about a thirty point lead.

Since June, Doeden has been receiving endorsements.  One came from the South Dakota Freedom Caucus.  That group took a beating on election night.  Doeden was asked how that endorsement if made prior to the election could have impacted that.

Doeden was asked if elected, whether his Lt. Governor choice would have connections with them.  He talked about who he’s looking for that role.

Doeden also received an endorsement from SD Canvassing.  That group’s main focus are on elections.  Doeden was asked how he would like to see elections run going forward.

Doeden is challenging Governor Larry Rhoden in the runoff.  That election will happen on Tuesday, July 28th.
