BROOKINGS, S.D.(KBRK)- Starting this fall, SDSU’s Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering will offer degrees in artificial intelligence engineering.
SDSU President Barry Dunn says this a natural evolution of engineering and design work.
He said this will be a good fit for SDSU’s engineering college.
Dunn said they expect high job demand for the engineers who design AI.
The board of regents says South Dakota currently has 10 thousand computer-related jobs, with roughly 78-hundred directly connected to AI.
The SDSU program will offer bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in artificial intelligence engineering.
