SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- The hyper-scale data center debate is gaining steam as candidates try to work their way into the legislature.
At least 19 candidates have signed the Data Center Accountability Pledge.
If they’re elected they’ll begin work to develop protections related to data centers…and say they’ll fight against tax incentives.
District 9 Democratic House Candidate Amanda Potter is one of the organizers.
They’ve also pledged to reject campaign donations from data center groups.
In our region, only District 3 candidate Erin Ronayne Rudner has signed on to the petition.
