PLATTE, S.D. (WNAX) – Several rounds of flooding mixed with some strong storms has created major problems for a number of counties.

At least 58 of the state’s counties are included in at least one disaster declaration.

House Majority Leader Lee Qualm of Platte says they have been talking about the tough financial situation many counties are facing.

Qualm says those county roads are vital.

Qualm says it is difficult to come up with a fix until they know the costs.

Qualm says they have talked about using some of the roll over funds into this year’s budget, or possibly the state’s budget reserve.
