PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – While there are several wind power plants under construction and in development in South Dakota, the number of wind generators may soon plateau.
Public Utilities Commissioner Chris Nelson says much of the wind development is driven by federal tax policy.
Nelson says he believes there will be rapid development of solar power production facilities.
Nelson says utility companies are looking for renewable resources and diversity in power production.
Nelson says market forces will determine what type of power production will be built in the future.
