PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem outlined her 2021 budget proposal to legislators in Pierre Tuesday.
Noem said the state’s economy is on strong footing.
Noem says she will include help for local governments recovering from this year’s disasters.
Noem says a reduction in internet service taxes and changes in expected sales tax collections will cut available new dollars.
Noem says she will also recommend just under $4 million for meth treatment and $5 million for a new health sciences building at USD in Vermillion.
