OMAHA, Neb. (WNAX) – A recent survey of business managers in the nine state Mid America region found the possibility of an economic contraction in the next six months.

Ernie Goss, an economics professor at Creighton University in Omaha, says getting a trade agreement with China would be a big boost.

Goss says Congress is sitting on another beneficial trade deal.

Goss says the region still needs more skilled workers.

Unemployment is low in most of those states and there are thousands of open jobs.ee
