OMAHA, Neb. (WNAX) – The Corps of Engineers is racing winter, trying to drop Missouri River reservoir levels low enough to handle the anticipated spring runoff.
Mike Swenson with the Corps in Omaha says those levels are rapidly dropping.
Swenson says the flows from Gavins Point Dam are being cut back.
Swenson says the bigger upstream lakes are also going down.
The spring release season will start on March 1.
