POET donates $2 million to Precision Ag facility at SDSU

BROOKINGS, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota State University officials are excited about the research partnership announced this week with POET biofuels. SDSU President Dr. Barry Dunn says they’re also grateful for the $2 million donation from POET to go towards the construction of the Precision Agriculture facility on campus.

He says their Precision Ag program is already growing with a biofuel processing minor now underway.

Dunn says climate change did have a measurable effect on South Dakota agriculture this year and he says they’re looking forward to battling that problem teaming up with POET.

Dunn says while construction of their Precision Ag Facility is going on, they also have 96 students already enrolled in their Precision Ag program.
