BROOKINGS, S.D. (KJJQ) – The Brookings City Council authorized City Manager Jackie Lanning to sign a memorandum of understanding with the South Dakota Department of Transportation for the 20th Street South Interstate 29 interchange.

The City has received an $18.7 million federal grant for this third Brookings interchange.

Lanning says there is a specific federal timeline that must be met.

Local sources will also provide funding.

The local match must cover 20-percent of the total project cost.
