OMAHA, Neb. (WNAX) – The Corps of Engineers is working to further lower levels on Missouri River reservoirs in anticipation of heavy spring run off.
Kevin Grode with the Corps in Omaha says January was another heavy run off month.
Grode says the ground is saturated across most of the northern plains.
Grode says the mountain snow pack is about normal.
Releases from Gavins Point Dam have been increased to 35,000 cubic feet per second, well above the long term winter averages of 12 to 15 thousand cubic feet per second.
