ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – Next week, Feb. 17-21, is School Board Recognition Week in South Dakota.

The event has been held for about the past decade, according to Duane Alm, member of the Board of Directors of the Associated School Boards of South Dakota, and also a school board member of the Aberdeen School District.

He said one way to recognize a school board is for businesses to put a simple thank you up on their marquee.

Alm has served on the local board for 18 years. He said there is a reason he continues to serve.

Alm recently received a Golden Apple award from the school district for his contributions.
