PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The Joint Appropriations Committee of the South Dakota legislature got updated tax revenue figures last week and will now use those to fill out the 2021 budget. The report indicated an increase of $19 million over last year.
Committee member, Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, says they are working with raw numbers.
Hunhoff says she doesn’t know how the money will split out.
Hunhoff says they want to help state agencies hang on to their employees.
Legislators are on a four-day weekend and will return to day 21 tomorrow. The last day of the main run of the session is set for March 12.
