RAPID CITY, S.D. (KBHB) – The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office says they are aware of a sighting that bares resemblance to Serenity Dennard – the little girl who has been missing since February of 2019.
In a Facebook post, the Sheriff’s Office says they were made aware of a post out of the Las Vegas area regarding a young girl who looks similar to Serenity.
It is one of many the department has received over the past year in their investigation of the little girl’s disappearance.
Serenity darted away from the Black Hills Children’s Home in early February last year and hasn’t been seen since. The consensus is that she froze to death somewhere in the area. Searches so far have not found her, although cadaver dogs have hit on possible human remains.
Pennington County says their investigation division is currently looking into the current sighting.
Officials have said in the past they take all sightings seriously and continue to investigate Serenity’s disappearance.
