Gov. Noem signs legislation to protect victims of human trafficking

PIERRE, S.D. (KWAT) – Governor Kristi Noem has signed legislation to better protect and help victims of human trafficking in South Dakota.

Noem says House Bill 1047 will better protect South Dakota from what she called, “the horrors of human trafficking.”

Noem says the people of South Dakota are, in her words, “not for sale.”

The bill received unanimous support in both the House and Senate.
