ABERDEEN, S.D. (Press Release) – Although there have not been presumptive or positive cases of COVID-19 in Aberdeen, the City is taking precautions to protect our community from possible exposure.

As precautionary measures:

Ride Line will continue service.  All Ride Line passengers who are symptomatic will be required to wear a medical mask.  These masks will be provided by Ride Line.

Aberdeen Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department will temporarily suspend activities as an effort to decrease the transmission of COVID-19 in Brown County.  The moratorium on activities began at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 16th and will continue through Sunday, March 29th. The City will continue to monitor the COVID-19 exposure and reassess our dates if needed.

Senior Center will also temporarily suspend activities from March 16th through March 29th. Senior nutrition programs and Meals-on-Wheels will continue as essential services.

The City Library will be closed to the public from Monday, March 16th through Sunday, March 29th.

The City has also suspended all large group activities scheduled from March 16th through March 29th in the Aberdeen Civic Arena and the Aberdeen Civic Theatre.

All other cities services will continue to provide services during our regularly scheduled times.

It may be necessary for the city to further adjust services depending upon circumstances.
