PLATTE, S.D. (WNAX) – House Majority Leader Lee Qualm of Platte is term limited in that body this year but wants to return to Pierre.

He has filed to run for the Senate in District 21. Incumbent Senator Rocky Blare of Ideal has now filed to run for the House. Qualm says they talked about that possibility.

Qualm says his time in the House has gone quickly.

It appears that Qualm will have a primary as Republican Erin Tobin of Winner has also filed for the Senate in District 21.
