PIERRE, S.D. (KBHB) – South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem said today they should have the final report from the C.D.C. on the Smithfield Foods tour tomorrow.
The Governor says they are working on personal protection equipment and securing that for Smithfield, as well as getting testing supplies.
She says they want to get Smithfield back up and running as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Noem also says the state ranks 18th in the nation for per capita when it comes to testing.
Noem says data today also indicates South Dakota is among the lowest in the nation for deaths per million.
The governor also had a conference call with county commissioners across the state.
Noem says she is continuing to urge residents to keep the status quo. She says they will continue to use the science they get every day on this virus to determine when the state can start to slowly get back to normal.
