ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – Work is being done to prepare for the upcoming auto racing season at Brown County Speedway, although a definitive timetable for racing is still up in the air.
Terry Voeltz, a track official, said a lot of work has already taken place at the track.
Casino Speedway in Watertown just completed a test and tune event. Voeltz said there was one scheduled at BCS, but that date may change to help accommodate the annual car show, but again everything is tentative.
Opening night at the local track is scheduled for Friday, May 22. Voeltz said that the June 5 Late Model Special will likely be postponed.
Voeltz said he does not envision having races without spectators this summer.
According to the Brown County Speedway Facebook page, planning has begun for a “drive-by car show” that would take place at Brown County Speedway on Saturday, May 16 before a test-and-tune event that would be done without fans in the stands.
