Active COVID-19 cases in South Dakota continue to decline

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – While there were 92 new cases of COVID-19 reported by the state on Wednesday, the number of active cases continues to drop.

There were also 109 new recoveries reported lowering the amount of active cases in South Dakota to 1,108. That total stood at 1,326 a week ago.

There were also 588 new negative cases reported, and no additional deaths.

Locally, there were six new cases reported in Brown County with eight new recoveries and 19 additional negative tests. That brings the county total to 211 cases (94 active), 117 recoveries and 1,036 negative tests.

Statewide, Beadle County saw the largest jump with 25 new cases reported, bringing that county’s total to 68. Pennington County also had an increase of 11, moving that county total to 85.

Minnehaha County had an additional 17 cases and still has the most positive cases in all with 3,182.

South Dakota’s current totals include 4,177 positive cases, 26,212 negative cases, 3,023 recoveries, and 46 total deaths. There are also 81 hospitalizations.
