WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – The U.S. House passed a $25 billion bailout of the U.S. Postal Service in a weekend session.

South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds says that’s not needed.

Democrats in the House are concerned that changes made by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy are aimed at slowing down the delivery of ballots by election day.

Rounds says overall mail volume has dropped due to the pandemic.

Rounds says South Dakota has a solid absentee voting system.

DeJoy has made changes at the postal service including limiting overtime and removing mail sorting machines.
