WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – Trump Administration officials seem to be pulling back from the President’s threats to close the U.S. – Mexican border, possibly as soon as this week.
Press Secretary Sarah Sanders says they administration is “looking at all options” on whether to close ports of entry and what the impact would be.
South Dakota Senator John Thune says there is little support in Congress for closing the border.
Thune says the threat might be a way the President is attempting to get leverage.
Thune says the President seems to throw out ideas without thinking them through.
Thune says a border closing is the last thing needed for hard pressed ag producers.
