BUFFALO, S.D. (Press Release) – A man from Pinehurst, Idaho has been identified as the person who died early Sunday morning in a motorcycle crash north of Buffalo.

An Indian motorcycle was northbound on U.S. Highway 85 when the driver, 44-year-old Eric Atkins, lost control. He was not wearing a helmet and was thrown from the motorcycle. He later died as a result of his injuries.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. All information is only preliminary at this point.

The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
