Schaunaman reflects on past year, looks to the future

ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – While many major cities in South Dakota experienced tough times this past year because of the pandemic, Aberdeen had a solid year with sales tax revenue.

Aberdeen Mayor Travis Schaunaman talked about the past year.

He said there are challenges and goals that lie ahead in the upcoming year.

He also pointed out the work being done on the new softball complex on the northeast side of town, the Northern State athletic complex, as well as a trails master plan, and new landscaping at the city cemetery.

Schaunaman said the numbers are also trending in the right direction in the COVID battle.

While there has been talk of planned protests and violence in each of the 50 states in conjunction with the upcoming presidential inauguration, Schaunaman said he does not feel threatened.
