YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota is in the top three states nationally in the percentage of COVID-19 vaccines distributed. There are still frustrations with the slow pace of immunizations.
Liz Healy, infection control specialist with Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton says the state Department of Health is working to even out the distribution.
Healy says it’s difficult to plan for any type of vaccination clinic.
Healy says they are in frequent contact with the Health Department.
The state reports over 75,000 doses have been given to over 58,000 people so far, with about 17,000 people getting the double dose.
