SD added 7 COVID-related deaths, active cases & hospitalizations continue to decline

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state added 7 more COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalization continued to drop, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The deaths moved the state’s overall death toll to 1,775. The state had 115 new confirmed cases and 274 recoveries, lowering active infections by 166 to 2,894(1st time below 3,000 since September 22nd). Those hospitalized in connection with the virus dropped to 145.

So far, South Dakota has had 108.070 confirmed cases and 103,401 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 10 new cases and 8 recoveries. The county currently has 167 active cases. Overall, the county has had 4,925 confirmed cases and 4,679 recoveries. There remains 79 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 26,954 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,353, and Lincoln County with 7,439. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,734, Brookings with 3,414, Davison with 2,896, Lawrence with 2,749, and Yankton with 2,739.
