SD Dept of Health reported no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations stayed about the same, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death total currently at 1,863. The state had 30 new confirmed cases and 63 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,933. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 91.

So far, South Dakota has had 111,334 confirmed cases and 107,538 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 5 new cases and 5 recoveries. The county currently has 65 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,090 confirmed cases and 4,940 recoveries. There’s currently 85 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 27,740 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,754, and Lincoln County with 7,668. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,927, Brookings with 3,564, Davison with 2,940, Lawrence with 2,806 and Yankton with 2,789.

Statewide 123,049 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 18% of the state) with 62,586 receiving 2 doses needed to complete vaccination(over 9% of the state).  Brown County has 5,720 receiving at least one shot & 2,996 getting the 2 shots need to complete vaccination.
