WATERTOWN, S.D.(KWAT)–Embattled Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg has resisted calls to step away from his job as he navigates his way through legal troubles.
Ravnsborg is charged with three misdemeanors for hitting and killing a man with his car on a highway near Highmore nearly six months ago.
Governor Kristi Noem was asked today if she’s disappointed Ravnsborg hasn’t accepted her call to resign.
The Legislature has put impeachment proceedings on hold until the charges against Ravnsborg play out in Hyde County court.
The governor wouldn’t say much about that.
Ravnsborg is also likely to face a civil lawsuit from the victim’s family.
