PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- A bill that could make major changes to state employee health benefits made it through the legislature with few details and little debate.
Eric Olilla, Executive Director of the South Dakota State Employees Organization, says it appears the bill would return employee health premium payments to the state.
Olilla says the details didn’t come out until after final passage.
Ollila says he believes there was bad information involved.
At the weekly legislative news conference, House Majority Leader Kent Peterson said the bill would return up to eleven million dollars to be used for state employee salaries.
