PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota legislature completed the main run of the 2021 session last week.
Representative Mike Stevens of Yankton says it was kind of surprising they made it.
Stevens says they also had a surprising amount of money to deal with.
Stevens says passing a two point four percent increase for the “big three” was a major accomplishment
Representative Ryan Cwach of Yankton says one of his priorities was passed and funded.
Cwach says he doesn’t like some legislative trends he is seeing.
Cwach says legislators may see some of the same issues next year.
Under the latest federal economic stimulus plan, the state could get up to one point three billion dollars.
Legislators return to Pierre on March 29th to deal with any vetoes and other last-minute business.
