YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- The one point nine trillion dollar, “American Rescue Plan” just signed by President Biden will provide direct payments to many local governments.
Yankton County Commission Chair Cheri Loest says this plan is different than the “Cares Act” passed last year.
Loest says the rescue plan sets aside sixty five billion dollars for counties.
Loest says they could see some of that money fairly soon.
Loest says the second half of the money should arrive within a year. She told the county commission Monday night that the money can be spent on infrastructure and other needs through the end of 2024.
