SD Dept of Health reported no new COVID-19 deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases  & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,947. The state had 262 new cases and 248 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,439. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 106.

So far, South Dakota has had 120,154 cases and 115,768 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 14 new cases and 5 recoveries. The county currently has 101 active cases(first time over 100 since Feb 16th. Overall, the county has had 5,409 cases and 5,217 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 30,599 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,400, and Lincoln County with 8,436. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,323, Brookings with 4,026, Davison with 3,161, Yankton with 2,991, and Lawrence with 2,918.

Statewide 303,903 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 50% of the state) with 214,329 completing vaccination(under 36% of the state).  Brown County has 14,782 receiving at least one shot & 10,086 completing vaccination.
