YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- Following the legislature’s failure to override her veto of the “trans-gender, women in sports bill,” Governor Kristi Noem issued two executive orders telling schools and universities how to apply the policy from the failed bill.
The Associated School Boards of South Dakota advised school districts to wait before implementing any new policies.
Yankton School Superintendent Wayne Kindle says they anticipated that decision.
Kindle says they recognize that the executive orders are out there.
The bill would have forced trans gender students to participate in sports that corresponded to the gender on their birth certificate.
