WATERTOWN, S.D.(AlphMedia)–Former State Senator and current city councilman Ried Holien filed petitions Friday to run for Watertown mayor.
It comes at a time when Watertown is about to transition to a city manager-led form of government, which will include a smaller city council and a part-time mayor.
Holien believes he’s the best fit under that scenario.
Holien’s late entry into the race means a compressed campaign, but he’s okay with that.
Holien will face incumbent Mayor Sarah Caron.
Election Day is June 15th.
