RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- A violent rape has been found to have directly lead to the death of a woman in Rapid City late last month. 58 year-old Marlon Little Bald Eagle has been arrested for the crime, which has only recently been made public.
42 year-old Robyn Runs Above of Manderson has been positively identified as the victim after her body was found near Maple Avenue.
Little Bald Eagle will stand trial for felony murder, as well as second and third degree rape. Brendyn Medina, community relations specialist for the Rapid City Police Department explains the specifics of this case.
Medina said a sex crime also tied to a death is rare for the area.
Medina said no two unattended death cases are ever alike.
The investigation into this homicide has been conducted jointly between the RCPD and the Pennington County Sheriffs Office.
