YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- Yankton City Commissioners debated details of a proposed ordinance to control the sale of medical marijuana.
At a work session ahead of their regular meeting last Monday night, City Attorney Ross Den Herder talked about how they see a medical marijuana dispensary operating.
Den Herder says a dispensary will have to operate an extensive security system.
Den Herder says the ordinance includes one time and continuing fees.
The ordinance then got first reading at the regular meeting and will have a public hearing and possible vote at the June 14th meeting. Medical marijuana becomes legal in the state on July first.
