YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- Interim committees of the South Dakota legislature are attempting to figure out a smooth path to medical marijuana legalization. Voters approved the measure last fall that becomes effective on July first.
Senator Art Rusch of Vermillion says the state departments coming up with rules aren’t ready yet.
Rusch says another of his committees will have to deal with the hundreds of places marijuana appears in state law.
Rusch says its possible the full legislature may have a say in marijuana rules later this year.
The medical marijuana and adult use subcommittees will meet again later this month.
