SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related death, while active cases  & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,023. The state had 12 new cases and 20 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 221. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 38.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,314 cases and 122,070 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had no new cases and 4 recoveries. The county currently has 11 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,635 cases and 5,529 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,729 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,865, and Lincoln County with 8,716, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,650, Brookings with 4,232, Davison with 3,246, Yankton with 3,111, and Lawrence with 3,008.

Statewide 357,139 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 55% of the state) with 329,303 completing vaccination(over 50% of the state).  Brown County has 17,128 receiving at least one shot & 15,995 completing vaccination.
