AMES, I.A.(WNAX)- While severe drought conditions have eased some across the northern plains, the dry area is expanding.
Dennis Todey, head of the USDA’s Midwest Climate Hub in Ames Iowa says some of the worst hit areas did get some rain.
Todey says the overall dry areas have expanded.
Todey says it’s a bad time for the hot conditions.
Todey says June is normally the wettest month of the year across the northern plains.
