YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- The impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic could linger for some time.
Doug Ekeren, President of Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, says while infection numbers have dropped, their staff is still dealing with the after effects.
Ekeren says they are focused on helping the caregivers recover.
Ekeren says most health care providers took a financial hit from treating so many Covid patients.
Ekeren says the new normal will include more use of technology and remote health treatments.
Ekeren is also interim President of Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell.
